Various clamps for fuselage assembly |
|
|
My fuselage kit is somewhere between Chicago and Dayton this evening. While waiting, I have been finishing the last big summer landscaping task (spreading 6 yards of mulch on too many flower beds). The yard work should be completed tomorrow with Friday or Saturday available to pick up the fuselage kit and begin the inventory. I did spend some time the last couple days fabricating some clamping devices per the jig drawings. I also made a couple wedge-shaped shims per the plans. I am not sure how many of the clamps might me required so I made six of each. I also found some 3/16" hardware variety bolts to be used in attaching the firewall to the jig uprights. I was killing some time at Harbor Freight recently and picked up some inexpensive safety glasses that were on sale. I have a habit of removing my regular glasses when doing close work so safety glasses are a must. I will be glad when the fuselage kit arrives and I can get back in the shop! |
