Enlarge hinge hole to attach rod end bearings |

Hinge brackets need holes enlarged for hinge bolt. Using #10 diameter drill? Research indicates that 3/16ths inch drill will work. Test drilled 3/16th drill bit into scrap powder coated bracket (same material as hinge bracket) and bolt does not fit well. Too tight and hole not even / round. Ordered different size bits and reamers: AN3 bolt #13 drill and then #12 reamer Also ordered #C drill and 1/4" reamer and #N drill and 5/16" reamer Test drilled second hole and bolt 'almost' fit. Too much variability on hole diameter due to drill bit type. Removed drill bit and put bits away before I was tempted to drill holes in real brackets. Waiting for new Drill bits and Reamers. |
