The engine starter takes a huge amount of current to crank the engine over. It has a #2 cable running from the battery to the starter solenoid on the firewall. From the starter solenoid there is a short cable that connects directly to the start. I fabbed up the cable and added corrosion boots to protect the lugs. The old battery I had wouldn't turn the starter over, but the new battery works great. |
