Secondary 20 Amp Alternator Connections - Part 1 |
|
|
There will be a 20amp Secondary alternator connection on the engine. This is mounted to the back of the engine accessory case where normally the engine driven vacuum pump would go. Since I don't have a vacuum pump requirement, its a perfect place to put a secondary alternator. The B&C 20 amp alternator doesn't have an internal regulator like the Primary alternator does, however, so I had to mount an external regulator on the firewall. All of the control and output wires for the Secondary alternator were already stubbed out to the firewall so all I had to do was add connectors and figure out how to bundle them up. Came out very nice, I thought. The VP-200 recognized the Secondary alternator and I was able to switch back and forth between the Primary and Secondary without a problem. |
