Trimmed canopy! |
|
|
Bit the proverbial bullet today and took to the canopy. Peter T had success with the very thin stainless steel cutting disk - so I practiced cutting on some of his offcuts then borrowed his disk. I fitted the canopy frame (with the rubber seal in place - along with the brackets etc) then placed the canopy on top. It was only about 1 1/2" too large all around - so I trimmed about an 1" on the first pass. The canopy then sat well on the frame so I put some location marks on (to relocate the frame to the one position) and marked for the final cut. I then made the final cut, keeping the cut as smooth as possible to reduce any possible stress points. All went well - it helped that it was a 30 degree C day and that the disk cut so smoothly. Another major hurdle cleared! |
