Fuselage - Improvement - Fabricating a new F-864A- |
|
|
As part of my effort to make a proper install for both the front and aft throttle quadrants, I decided to improved the installation of the DJM Manufacturing front Throttle quadrant. The current design puts the throttle quadrant bezel below the F-864B-1 cover. It is not practical nor esthetical. In order to change that, I need to move the hole throttle quadrant assembly up maybe by 0,375" higher. To do this, I need to make a new Throttle quadrant support plate. Luckily, I have one of my student pilot who is a fabricator. Benoit Simard was kind enough to help me fabricate from a raw 0.062" thick aluminum sheet a new F-864A-1 support plate. Benoit used his hydraulic shear to cut the material, then bended the plate to shape to replicate the original part. I would not have been able to do this without Benoit ! |
