Fuselage - MOD - External Power Hatch Door & Hinge |
|
|
On this Monday, I tried to complete the External Power Plug Mod, working on the access door hatch. I did: - From scratch, I made the hing offset arm from AL 2024-T3 0.032" thick sheet. I rolled the best I could the skin using my Boelube jar and a Snap-on socket to get the approximate radius. I bended the flanges with a steel ruler, clamping the part on the work bench. - I test fitted the hinge assembly on the aircraft, and it works nice ! - I deburred the hatch door, trying to ensure a proper gap with skin and doubler. - In the evening, I made the cut-out for the Hartwell latch, drilled it and test fitted it on the aircraft. Next step is to finalize hinge and door installation. |
