began the process of cutting the slot in the bottom of the control stick to allow side-to-side motion where the stick is mounted on the rod that controls the elevator. This 4130 steel is very hard to drill, takes a lot of cutting oil and had to step up very gradually, by 1/64ths of an inch, to get up to end goal of 5/8ths of an inch. next step will be cutting out the web between the two holes to form a slot.
