Brief Description:    Capacitive Fuel Sending units
I was able to secure a capacitive fuel sending kit (vans stopped making them). Its a very simple system. It consists of two plates in each tank that measures the resistance on the plates. One plate is located towards the outboard section of the tank and another plate mounted towards the inboard section. As the fuel level drops, the resistance changes. The plates are secured to the respective ribs via three nutplates and the screw is isolated via a plastic sleeve/spacers around the screw. This keeps the plates isolated from all the other metal in the tank. One wire is routed along the vent line from the outboard plate to the inboard plate. Then another wire is routed to a BNC connector mounted on the inboard most rib.

Today I spent time match drilling the plates to the associated ribs, deburring, and installing nutplates on the plates. I also attached the terminals to the wires in preparation for assembly. I will wait to apply proseal to the wire connections until final assembly.
