Right elevator back riveting |
|
|
Lots more back riveting today and lots more practice drilling out flush rivets. I found back rievting much harder than standard riveting with a number over driven, smudged and not see on the flush side. The job is made harder by the upper skin restricting your ability to set the rivets near the trailing edge easily. Drilled out all the mistakes and will reset them tomorrow. Did a little deburring in the meantime as it was too late to set rivets noise wise. On a happy note it appears that C yoke for teh pneumatic squeezer is now actually moving again after being hung in COVID restrictions, will be nice to finish off the horiztonal stabiliser with it and still believe it was the right decision to wait for it to get more consistency of rivet setting on the spars of the horizontal stabiliser. |
