Not much anbition today, Spent msot of the time, seperating the two cowl halves. I was worried I would have problems as I only put the clay plugs/dams in at the last minute yesterday, So late last night after the Flox had set up semi firm, I turned the cowl upside down on the table and then crawled up inside to see if I was going to has any problems. It's a good thing I did because there were severareas where they last minute plug didn't work and I had Flox which had flowed so as to make a countinuous ring (not good for seoerating the halves) forthnatly the flox was still plastic enough to allow for me to gouge out wha t I hopes would be some clear seperation gaps on each side of each ring. In the morning, I set out to see if they would come apart. Will James had said to use a mallet arounf the ring openings to help and seperate them from the flox, so I gat several healthy taps around the perimeter of each ring, then pulled the hinge pins and began the process of carefully seperating the halves, and to my amazement after 20-30 minutes of cautios encouraging they split! It took another hour and a half cleaning out the modeling clay and sanding/grinding the seperation gaps so they are somewhat smooth and cleanig up the rings. I got the side (horizontal seams/gaps sanded to the right dimension, there are serveral places that need filling, so that will be the primary task for tomorrow. I should have all edges and gaps adjusted by end of week. Next week, I'll sand, fill pinholes and prime it. Also do the oil door.
