Fiberglass tip work |
|
|
Decided to use 1/2" .025 aluminum strips glued to the inside of the fiberglass tip to reinforce the CS4-4 blind rivets. So I cut four strips from scrap stock supplied by Vans... sanded the edges flat on the belt sander and finished deburring them with the deburring tool. Ordered T-88 structural glue from Aircraft Spruce to glue the strips onto the inside of the fiberglass tips. Drove down to Vans on the 25th and picked up a new piece of hinge material for the trim tab. We are on vacation this week and were on our way to visit the Evergreen Aviation Museum... it was a fun day seeing the Spruce Goose and a lot of other great aircraft with Debbie and Kevin. |
