No work yesterday, did ground school with Bob Sob, and flew an instrument cross-country lesson with Mark S. Today put in 4 hours after moving more firewood into the shop, then flew a lesson with Cliff in the C170. Finished assembling rear spars from the sub-assemblies completed earlier. Moved on to Section 15, where we get into assembling the wing skeleton. Just when I was thinking that now we will see some real progress, I realized that before anything really significant happens there are fifty-six (Yes 56!) ribs to trim, deburr, flute (straighten), and prime. I'll be working ribs for the next many hours. Got a start today by doing all the trimming with the right handed metal snips. Dad Hines would be proud! |
