Brief Description:  C182 Checkout

-Finished up my C182 transition training with Doug K. in the morning. Power on/power off, and turning stalls over Puget Sound west of Paine Field (KPAE). We also simulated a failed pitch trim system with full nose down pitch. It takes a lot of strength to hold altitude in that configuration. Also it is difficult to make any change without over correcting. Takeoff and landings (short, soft, and normal) on both the long and short runway’s at Paine. Then we went over to Monroe/Firstair (W16) for a real short field experience (2087’x34’). Did one short field and a go around. Then back to Renton (KRNT) for a flaps up landing. I was pretty wrung out after all that but felt pretty good about it. The 182 is my new favorite airplane. Have to lay in the plan for flying into Stehekin (6S9) up in the North Cascades now. No more excuses!
-Had to change the oil in the car, and then it was over to a friends house for a Barbeque. No rivets today.
