This is my first effort on the plane since knee surgery on December 1st (on the last day of my recovery before going back to work no less..). Not a lot of progress, but it is something. I found a place to store the three fuselage skins (that came taped together and rolled up and tied with string in the fuselage crate) so I could use the big work bench again. I pulled out the new set of drawings/plans and started collecting parts that go into the firewall assembly. It is always tough with a new kit to find parts. I am unable to neatly reorganize all the parts and fasteners when I inventory a new kit – it’s just not in me to do all that organization. I try to wrap everything back up in the sub kits as supplied by Van’s. At least the kit inventory paper will give me a place to look for the part when the time comes to find it. Anyway, I dug out a dozen or so parts and even clecoed a few onto the firewall!
