Brief Description: Finished up stiffeners, drains, and fuel tank ring
Today I finished riveting the stiffeners and riveted both the fuel drains and fuel filler cap rings.
The fuel drains I did with the squeezer. I had to drill out one rivet.
The fuel cap rings I did with the 2X rivet gun. The RV14 fuel cap assembly has a tapered ring (like the locking caps I believe). This means more than one length of rivet. I used -4.5’s (6 per ring) and -5’s (4 per ring) rivet lengths. I left the hole that holds the fuel vent clip open at this time. I think it will be easier to install the fuel vent line this way and then put in this last rivet – we’ll see.
I also completed all the fillet seals and covered the remaining shop heads.
