I goot on a roll today setting rivets. I found myself much more productive when I wasn’t drilling out every 3rd rivet! With the air pressure set at the compressor regulator to 30# and a little more experience I was doing pretty well. I found that the -4 rivets called out on the plans for the skin/splice plate/rib assembly wasn’t sufficient after setting a few rows. I dug out some 4.5’s and found that those worked better. The -4’s didn’t leave enough of a shop head. I haven’t decided if I will drill those out and replace them though. I am maybe 70% done with the riveting. With my rough start I have been considering a 2X gun. I got a generic 3X gun in my Plane Tools RV tool kit. It seems overkill for these 3/32 rivets and is pretty heavy to work with. VAF seems to indicate most folks get by with a 3X gun.
