Brief Description:  Left Wing Skeleton Riveting

I finished riveting the last four main ribs on to the front spar. I actually started by drilling out three more rivets from Saturday’s session that I was not happy about. I somehow was “smearing” the factory heads with the rivet gun. Not sure how I was doing that other then maybe I was just getting tired and not holding the gun straight. All three rivets came out without a problem. The remaining four main ribs were the four most inboard that support the wing walk area. Access to rivets with the gun was good as the rib flanges all point inboard. It felt good to get this part done. Next step is to rivet on the rear spar.
I ordered some snap soc’s from the Yard and another 250 3/32” clecos so I can work both wings at once (I hope that is enough). Searching VAF forums turned up the tip for the snap soc’s. The idea is they keep your rivet gun set from marking up the factory heads and surrounding material. They also sent a nice well illustrated catalogue of tools. I had no idea how many new tools I still need!!
