I took the day off on Friday and drove down to Vans to pick up the Wing kit, a quart of tank sealant and a few MK-319-BS blind rivets to finish off the elevator. I got there around lunch time and was surprised to see a line at the front desk. I had a nice conversation with a couple local builders who were in picking up parts on their lunch hour while I waited my turn. It was Bruce Swayze (RV7A) and I didn’t catch the other guy’s name.
They loaded my pickup out back and back north I went. Two big crates. The 8’x3’box in the bed with the gate down, and the long (15’) and skinny box on the lumber rack. It started raining as soon as I pulled out. I stopped at Mrs. Beasely’s half way home for the fish and chips.
Claira helped me get the crates out of the pickup and into the garage when I got home. I unpacked them and moved all the parts down to the basement shop. Everything stayed dry for the most part. There was a little bit of water that leaked in around the seams of the box and got some of the paper wet. They do and excellent job packing these boxes.
Loaded up and ready to go
