OK.......Van's provides these nice steal CNC drilled and powder coated hinge brackets. They are good in that the holes are drilled on center and evenly spaced. The powder coating protects from rust.
I did find a few issues however.... 1. The power coating was applied so thick that it pooled up up on the edges. This prevents the hinge brackets from sitting flat on the spar surface. 2. The holes for the bolts must be cleaned out as they are slightly under drilled in the first place and the powder coating prevents the bolts from being installed.
I sanded the power coat with 220 grit so that they sit flush. I will hit them with a coat of primer that matchs the rest of the parts later.
