While practicing getting in and out of the helicopter seat without breaking things it became apparent that the two start switches on the right, front of the seat would be easy to hit with my heal. So I came up with a plan to place a switch guard between the switches which would sit higher than the switch toggles to help protect them from kicking and from accidental engagement during flight.
I cut a strip of aluminum approx. 1" wide, drilled some holes in it, engine turned it and bent it into a half circle with mounting ears, looks like a fancy conduit clamp. The holes caused it to bend with facets rather than a smooth radius but I kind of liked the look so I left it.
I'll go out to the hangar and check the fit later this week.
