Brief Description:  Upper panel connector, power up test

Cut to matching lengths and installed the plug ends on the 8 wires that connect via the 9 pin connector to the upper panel. These wires provide power and ground to the instruments, trans temp, engine temp, engine oil pressure and connection to the rotor RPM pickup.

Plugged the newly installed ends into the plastic connector and double checked they all mated up with the proper wires in the other half of the connector.

Connected the LED plugs, fuel flow meter harness and engine RPM wires to the upper panel.

Plugged the fuse into the aux battery wire and verified operation of the governor, MFS and start fuel/exciter.

Inserted the key into the main battery cut off sent power to the front for the first time, whew, no smoke! Turned on each of the switches individually and verified operation of the main governor circuit, MFS, fuel pump and instruments.

Fully disengaged the clutch then spun the engine up with the starter to verify operation of the oil pressure gauge and engine tach. While the engine was spinning I engaged the clutch enough to spin the transmission and noted a slight rise of the needle on the rotor tach.

I then ran the clutch on down to fully engaged to check the function of the LED indicators but the green LED failed to light, the flashing yellow would light when disengaged and would go out when engaged but no green LED. Trouble shooting determined that the LED itself had failed so I snipped it off its leads and will have to solder in a replacement.
