In talking with the checkout pilot and other pilots with flying ships, I learned that it was desirable to have some friction in the walking beams to dampen out some of the two per rev stick shake. I had installed bearings in my walking beams rather than use the stock bolt through a hole with some grease method and that made for very nice free cyclic controls but experience beats theory so off they came and I made new walking beams utilizing a brass bushing and Teflon washers sandwiching the walking beam to provide a smooth but resistive movement.
Machined a thick aluminum washer, 1.4" diameter, to capture the inside teflon washer while the outside washer is squeezed between the walking beam and the flat frame mount. Used the laser cutter at work to cut the Teflon washers from a 1/16" sheet I got from McMaster.
