Brief Description: Pulley alignment, belt tension, idler pulley
Adjusted the drag link that connects the front carrier bearing to the side frame to center the engine between the frame rails and align the engine pulley with the trans pulley, tightened the jam nut and loctited and torqued the bolt securing the drag link to the rubber mount on the frame.
Loctited and torqued the 3/8" bolt that secures the engine pulley to the front mount/clutch bearing. Final tightened the flange bolts for the front bearing.
Adjusted the top clutch clevis to achieve a 35# pull on the clutch arm before it goes over center. It started out at 33# and one turn out on the clevis brought it up to 38#. I left it at 38# since the new belts will stretch a lot early on lowering this setting quickly. Per suggestion from the checkout pilot I am leaving the clutch engaged most of the time to help get the initial stretch out of the belts before the checkout.
Installed the idler pulley and realized I should have set the tension with it installed, re-checked the tension and it had only gone up less than a pound. Initial measurements show that the idler may be slightly out of alignment with the trans pulley. Further checking will need to be done and some possible filing of the mounting holes to get it all square.
