Brief Description:  Oil line change, Cabin/tail paint lines

The plans call for a loop in the oil line from the tank to the pump that is supposed to prevent the oil from the tank seeking level and ending up in the engine gear box which is lower than the oil level in the tank. I had left this loop out of the original line since some have said the oil will still siphon over to the engine even with the loop. I found that after a few weeks most of the oil was in the gearbox rather than the tank so I decided to make another line with the loop and see for myself if it helps. I kept the original line intact and made up the new line with some extra ends and tubing I had.

Once the new line was in place I disconnected the line from the bottom of the gearbox, drained the oil and put it back into the tank. I then spun the engine with the starter a couple times until I saw oil pressure on the gauge. This assures that oil has been pulled through the new line so I can see if it will now siphon or if the loop will stop it. Marked the oil level on the tank sight window and will check it during the coming weeks.

Used some construction string pulled around the front of the cabin to the tail to get an idea of where I'm planning the paint line between the white bottom and red top. Have decided the paint will be Toyota Blizzard Pearl (070) on the bottom and Corvette Crystal Red Tint coat (89U) on top with a grey strip that matches the seat pan.
