Brief Description:  Tail drive shaft

Adjusted the alignment of the front bearing hanger so it is square with the drive shaft.

Measured the lengths of the three drive shaft sections. I purchased one replacement section as I wanted to make to of the tubes longer than they were originally cut to allow maximum egagement of the tubes on the carrier bearings and allow proper spacing of the two bolts that secure the tubes to the bearings and end couplers.

Final measured the lengths for the front and middle tube after straightening the front hanger and marked the tubes ready for cutting to length on the lathe.

Marked and center punched the two end bolt holes on the tail section of drive shaft and installed it in the ship with .025" gap in the rear coupler then hand drilled shallow 1/8" holes in the two bolt locations to lock in the positioning of the tail coupler and rear carrier bearing. Tomorrow I will cut the other two tubes to length and drill the 4 holes in the tail section using the mill.
