Brief Description:  Tail weight tube

Since the Helicycle is a single place with a very narrow balance range I decided to add a weight tube under the tail for fine tuning the balance as I gain or lose weight. I made up the tube from 1" ID PVC 15" long. Glued a cap on one end then slightly turned down the other end so the cap would slide on and off then drilled a cross hole for a spring clip to secure the cap.

Cut a 1.5" length of 1" steel conduit and split one side on the band saw, clamped the saw curf together with vice grips then melted old wheel weights into it until full, released the clamp and dropped out the new lead slug. Made 7 of these slugs, enough to fill the tube. Each slug weighs 7-8 oz.

Mounted the tube as far back as possible under the right longeron using Adel clamps. This location is 5 times the distance behind the main shaft as the seat is ahead of it meaning each pound in the tube will offset 5 pounds in the seat.
