Brief Description: Engine Control Cable Mounts Part 1
Time to put in the backing plates for the engine controls. I don’t like the tombstones because they offer no resistance to the direction of the actual force being applied to the control other than some stiffness of the plate. For any bracket, if I make it as shown, is structural, very strong and I can make it out of thinner material. I think I made it out of 4130A .040 plate. I borrowed a used control cable from a friend for fit. I drilled 3/4in holes in the brackets and fitted the bottom edge to the 3/4in tubing.
