After thinking about it and with all the input I received from my son and the BH groups, this is probably what I am going with. Most all designs connect to an outside cluster somehow...cable, welded fittings, tubes, etc. The Piper pics that Mark Moyle had were the main inspiration, and the mount will have fingers that will cover the cluster. This will also keep the tubes in tension, not compression. The attach point will be welded to the top of the cluster instead of the bottom like the Piper example. I'm much happier the angle is very close to the recommendation in the FAA AC.
