Brief Description:  Front Seats Part 11

The seat bottoms are about done. I looked at the factory seats and they have this type of reinforcement welded on the bottom of the seat below the seat back pivot bushing. I called Bob and asked him what thickness of patch I should use. He said .050. I suggested some .049 tubing and he said it would be ok. He also said to weld a patch on top as the Tri-Pacer seat it is modeled after cracks in that area.

I took two three inch pieces of 7/8ths .049 tubing, cut into quarters and shaped the ends. I welded them on and voila, instant (almost) patches. To keep from warping the seat frames when welding I tacked both patches in place first, then finished welded them.

As an aside, I found some really good pictures of the front seats from a Tri-Pacer online. These are almost direct copies of those seats, so they must be doing something right.
