Brief Description:  Making the Hinges

It's getting harder and harder to get shop time because the weather is so nice outside. For those that have never wintered in Alaska, you may not understand what a relief this is!

Anyway, I got the hinges tacked and bent. They are all ready for final welding. Even though heating was Eric Newton's preferred method of bending the straps, I think next time I would try to bend them cold. They look ok, but not totally smooth because you have to form them with a hammer. Perfection is the enemy of completion, so I will use them as-is. Totally airworthy and to be honest no one would ever notice. Sometimes I feel like a blacksmith and not an airplane builder!
