Brief Description:  Fuselage Brake Cylinder Mounts Part 2

I wondered how best to try to sight the rudder pedal bracket to the fuselage bracket and came up with this. I turned the brake pedal upside-down and put a bolt through to hold it in place on the rudder pedal. This gave me a place to hang a weight on a string and I used that to center the bottom mount. Then I could tack each mount, moving the brake pedal and weighted string to the other rudder pedals until all were aligned and tacked. One thing you have to make sure the fuselage is level as well so the string hangs vertically in relation to the fuselage. Once that was done, I took out the rod and welded the mounts in place. I had to cut the rod in order to get it out, but no big deal…I only cut it in one spot and it served its purpose. I kept the 3/8ths spacer in between each mount until it was finish welded to preclude any movement. The result was great! All the mounts are aligned and have the proper angle relative to the fuselage.
