Brief Description:  Making Rudder Pedal Parts Part 2

Got finished today on the parts. All of these were pretty easy, but tedious to make. There is nothing that looks worse to me than a set of pedals that are all a little different. So I took the time to make the parts as close to the plans and each other as reasonably possible and got good results.

If you don't have some sort of band saw, I highly recommend you get one! My hat is off to anyone who has ever made all these without one. Now I see whay a water jet would be fantastic, but not on my budget.

The ruddel pedal ends are just 1 1/4in discs of .062 sheet. Avipro has an mandatory bulletin about putting ends on the rudder pedals so your feet don't slide off at a bad time. The non-welding fix for existing kits was to through-bolt some 1 1/2in washers to the ends. Later production has tabs welded to the ends. Since I'm welding, I just made the ends out of 1 1/4 discs and that still gives me 3/8ths in to help capture my feet on the pedal without the unnecessary extra on the backside of the pedal.. Plus, it looks clean.

Now to fire up the TIG...
