Brief Description: Starter and Battery Solenoid Mounting Part 2
Well, unfortunately Covid finally got me and I felt terrible the last few days. I did manage to drag myself out to the shop for a few hours so I could finish the solenoid installation. I had decided to use a backing plate with nutplates. Jim said that I will be replacing these solenoids and recommended nutplates as it is a real PITA to get to nuts on the opposite side of the firewall. So that’s what I did. I used two 6-32 screws to hold the plate in place in case I needed to remove both, and used ¼-28 nutplates for the solenoids. AN3 bolts would certainly be enough, but the holes in the mounting flanges are so big I just went with AN4 bolts. It turned out nice.
