The alternator rear plug connection is protected by the rear cover. The opening for the plug wasn’t large enough for the plug to fit, so I had to take the cover off and do a little grinding. No big deal, but I had to take the alternator battery post insulator off in order to get the cover off. I found the insulator to be broken from the factory! I called Plane Power (now owned by Hartzell) and spoke with their tech support. I explained the situation and the person said they would sent out a replacement, no charge. I did find out later that isn’t a part they normally stock and the technician probably pulled one off of an alternator they had at the shop. I found out the insulators are a NipponDenso part and easy to buy, about $1.00 each. So I bought some to have on hand.
