Brief Description: Ventral Fin Front Mount Nutplates Oops
Well, another mistake of omission. I wanted to make a plate with two nutplates for the forward ventral fin mount. Little did I realize that when the stringers were installed it’s impossible to slip the plate in! Yuck. So, the next best thing is to weld a couple of steel nuts to a plate and proseal them in so they don’t slide around. Operation “Ventral fin screw-up fix” was born, realized and completed. The only way that I could accurately place the nutplates was crawling into the back of the fuselage and placing them through the gap in the mount using a pair of bent needle-nosed pliers. I set them in place by tightening them in place with hardware for a few days. Another bunch of hours wasted for not thinking ahead!
