Bron Issac made great progress on the engine baffling months ago, but now it’s time to fine-tune and finish the job. One thing that couldn’t be established was the distance between the baffling and engine cowling doors, mainly because there were no doors! I took an idea from an issue of Kitplanes where someone used paperclips to determine the distance between the top edge of the baffling and the cowling. I used that same technique with my cowling with some success. At least I know the baffling wasn’t trimmed too short. One part that is perplexing is the baffle behind cylinder #6. It is very difficult to remove because of clearance issues. I’m not sure how to solve this, but I’ll do some internet sleuthing to find out if others have the same issue.
