Brief Description:  Engine Air Intake Part 10

I wanted to put at least one screw in the tail of the intake but there is a bit of a void between the skin and the tail of the intake scoop. I mixed up some epoxy with filler to make up the space. I put some tape on the bottom cowling where the epoxy would tough and painted it with some PVA release agent. I then taped the areas on the scoop where I didn’t want the mixture to attach itself. Once I troweled in the mixture, I screwed the scoop in place and put pressure on the back end to hold it really flat.

I also needed to make a ramp for the engine air intake so it would match the Vans FAB airbox opening and give the front of the scoop a bit of stability. I made a paper pattern for the AL piece and then it occurred to me the intake reminded me of Mater from Cars. So I made a pair of teeth to look like Mater. I like it!
