A good point to start is to have the hanging tabs as described in the Vans RV7 installation guide. It looks very similar to what I have, so I’ll go with that. One thing I had to do after making the tab (.071 4130 sheet) is make some room for the tab in the case casting as they just did spot-facing at the factory.. Using a Dremel tool, a right-angle attachment and a milling burr I was able to clean the flash off of the surrounding area so the tab would fit flat. A dab of paint and it’s as good as new.
