I got the parts prepped and built up an edge along the newly extended flange with electrical tape. I mixed up some epoxy with microbaloons and just a bit of fumed silica. I spread this along the edge of the fiberglass and electrical tape to make a new joggle for the cowling. Once it hardened up a bit, but was still pliable I took off the electrical tape. After it set up, I sanded it smooth.
