One of the exciting things of hanging the engine is the progress toward actually having a cowl for the engine. I took the very dusty and now ancient nosebowl off the shelf and gave it a quick look before putting in the nutplates. I had it mounted to the ring gear and a friend looked at it and said something didn’t look quite right. So I made a plywood sandwich for the spinner flange and got it level with the laser. I dropped the laser down and checked the rest. A hamster could have done a better job. The finish gelcoat and the fiberglass in general was absolutely awful. I had described this in detail a few log entries back and now I have proof how awful it really is. Time to correct one more thing from other’s sloppy work…aaaargh!
