Brief Description:  Engine Assembly Part 11

Kinda a bad day. I thought I would install all the injector line clamps IAW Lycoming Service Bulletin 342E and finally be done with the engine. My injector lines have a plastic coating on them and in order to make the new rubber Adel clamps fit I had to cut back a few inches of the covering. I'm glad I did as I discovered corrosion and pitting in the line underneath where the old plain steel clamp was. Since I already replaced two of the lines because of obvious mechanical damage, I removed the covering on all the remaining lines. I found out all four of the remaining lines had corrosion hidden under the rubber (now hard) coating. Nothing much else to do except break out the plastic and order replacements. Ouch...

I can't wait for this engine to be finished. I can't do anything else on the project because I don't want to contaminate the engine with the nasty shop dust and dirt that comes from metal fabrication. Once it's done, it will be done!
