I spent a bit of time cleaning and painting some really shabby looking parts. I took some scotchbrite pads and cleaned them up, masked them and gave them two coats of Lycoming Gray paint. I also took a brush and pick and cleaned out the small remnants from the case halves. Divco recommends cleaning out everything before using the case, even though it looks clean out of the box. I'm glad I did because I found this curl of metal lurking in one of the oil passageways close to where they repaired the case. Lesson learned...follow the instructions!
