Brief Description:  Lycoming Case Splitting Tool Part 2

After a lot of measuring and fiddling, I finally got the tool constructed and it works! The case was split. After hours of work it just took 10 minutes with a couple of wrenches to split the case. The interesting part was the right front plate. Because of the way the front studs put pressure on the plate, I had to move the back (large) nuts to the inside of the plate so it would keep equal pressure on the front studs, I'm happy how the whole tool turned out. Even though the long plate is 3/4in thick of 5058 AL, it still bowed a bit under pressure at the back and had to coax the studs a bit with a dead-blow hammer on the back edge of the plate. The plates can be reversed for installation.
