Bending the wing strut attach fittings took a bit of time as I figured out how to make the bending jig. I copied a jig that I saw on Russ Erb's CD that he had borrowed from Bill Johnson. I took some flat plate and TIGed some small cut off chunks of 4130 to it, the same thickness as the reinforcement pieces. I have it in a a vee shape so the reinforcement teardrop-shaped piece could sit flat and still allow the front to be supported for the bend.
The bend was made cold, and I took my time. After the bend, no cracks and it has a nice radius. It nicely matches the 30 degree bend called for in the plans.
