Brief Description:  Cool Welding Goggles

One of the most frustrating things I do is weld inside the fuselage. My helmet just flat gets in the way. I always wanted to try to figure out a way to modify a welding helmet so it’s just the filter and nothing more. My cries of anguish were answered! I just happened into a welding shop in Olympia and saw the Miller Weld-Mask auto-darkening goggles. I completely fell in love. I did some research and decided to take the plunge and buy a set. I actually bought mine on Amazon from the company that actually manufactures them for Miller. Servore is a Korean company and the box was completely in Korean, including the instructions! I had to wait a bit because I always wear cheaters so I can see to weld. The goggles come with a set of frames for prescription eyewear, but they have to be made. I took it to a local optical shop and had a set made just for me, +2.00. Well, I tried them out tonight and they are fantastic. They will take a bit getting used to, but they are light and very comfortable. The good news is I can get into tight places without banging that stupid helmet around and the goggles eliminate the reflection of the overhead lights inside the helmet faceplate.. This is a keeper!
