Brief Description:  Stomp Shear Part 2

Well, I was able to make the parts that I needed. The links were easy and the bushings were simple. It's so nice to have a lathe to make stuff like this. I've been working so many years without a shop and no fancy tools, it's seems like a dream sometimes when I work in my shop!

The blades will be about $460 to have sharpened, with shipping. I spoke with a real knowledgeable guy at Benoit Sheet Metal in Washington. They are the Roper-Whitney reps for Alaska. They said no one does it in Alaksa, but they could do it no problem. He told me what to look for in the blades and how to set them up. They are right on the edge, so I decided to try them per his spec to see how they cut. Since the shear will have an easy life, if they cut it will certainly last as long as I'm using it. If I was doing production, they would be off to be reground today. There are about 18 places to adjust this thing, so it will take a bit to fine-tune this thing.
