Brief Description:  Cutting and fitting the rest of the cross tubes

I fit the rest of the cross tubes on the bottom fuselage. In order to center the 1 inch tubes on the ¾ inch longeron, I made a bunch of 1/8th inch spacers and put them under the longeron tubing. The cross tubes fit fine, but then I got to thinkin’. After I cleaned up, I looked at the plans and saw that the bottoms of the tubes that are at the front and rear landing gear mount points (stations B and C) have to fit into the longeron pretty flat to accommodate the reinforcing straps for the brackets. The 1 inch cross tubing has to be smooshed on the bottom a bit to make this happen.

One other item that caught my eye was the bottom fuselage being bent up at stations D and E, when it’s time to fit the tail post and the top of the fuselage with the bottom. The total measurement is 203 inches from front to back, flat on the table. Since the bending describes an upward arc at the tailpost, the distance from station A to the center of the tail post will be a little less than 203 inches. I’m not going to do anything different.
