Brief Description: Wing Attach Fittings Part 13 - Final
This is that last entry…really. One thing I didn’t check was the wing incidence when tacking the fittings. When I asked Bob Barrows about the incidence, he said it was more critical the spar bolts were in line and centered on the spar carry-through tubes. He said if I built it per the plans, I should be really close to the 2 degrees. It was more important to ensure the wings were set the same. So even though I wouldn’t change anything I decided to check it anyway. To get the chord line I needed to extend the trailing edge of the unfinished wing to it’s normal end point. I used the wing setting cutout that came with the wing to determine the position of the missing trailing edge. I then projected my laser to intersect the trailing edge and the center of the leading edge. I put the digital level against the end rib and visually aligned the bottom of the level to the laser line. Result? Two degrees! At least now it’s verified and I know what I have.
