I followed a cue from Eric Newton and used some AL cable fairleads for my rudder cable exits. I had made a template before the fabric went on to located precisely where they come out of the fabric. It worked great! And as an added bonus the swaged cable end with the fork just barely passes through. Dodged a bullet on that one!
